After Later Audio Steps 1U

After Later Audio has gone horizontal by taking their Steps burst generator, clocking, and random module and wrapping it in a 1U housing. Steps is designed to work in a few different ways: you can have a steady clock, random burst of triggers, random stepped voltages, looped mode to get predictable results, and with six outputs a complex network is just a few patch cables away.

Use the internal clock or an external source to trigger the burst and random steps. A pulses output generates eight pulses for each trigger received, a Gate output stays high during the burst event, and an End Of Burst (EOB) output fires at the end of each burst grouping. Combining these can create elaborate modulations and organic flow, or you can use it to chain two Steps modules together. During the burst event, you also have a R. Gate output that will output random gates during the burst and stepped random voltages that can be switched to just eight steps, or truly random. These voltages can be adjusted with the Steps knob that will attenuate the output and with the Loop switch engaged, you get constant random voltage or looped either steps. For a compact random and burst module, the After Later Audio Steps 1U is a fine choice.
