33 1/3 Talking Heads’ Fear of Music
Jonathan Letherm first heard The Talking Head's Fear of Music in the summer of 1979 on Brooklyn's WNEW radio station. In between songs David Byrne announced in a monotone voice "The Talking Heads have a new album, it's called Fear of Music." Fear of Music was The Talking Head's third album and first produced by Brian Eno. Letherm takes us on a tour of his adolescent obsession; its songs, guitars, lyrics, packaging, rhythms, downtown origins, and lasting legacy.
