Arturia's Pigments 3 is a software synthesizer of their own design, incorporating wavetable synthesis, granular/sampling synthesis, and virtual analog techniques into an engine that provides countless opportunities for inspiring sound design. With a dual audio engine that allows combination of virtual analog and wavetable sounds, Pigments 3 offers a seamless workflow that combines the best of digital and analog-style sonic resources. Three envelopes, three LFOs, and three function generators offer endless modulation options, while a dual filter with tons of classic analog filter models and special new designs offer the potential to sculpt raw oscillators or samples into finely-tailored sounds. A tremendously flexible effects section provides everything from wavefolding to reverbs, delays, and more.

Pigments 3 is perhaps most notable for its handling of modulation routing and visualization: given its striking color scheme and ability to visualize many elements simultaneously, it's always easy to tell what is modulating what, where parameter offsets are located versus their current modulated values, and even the waveshapes the engine is currently producing. MPE is also supported, bringing this complex, multifaceted instrument under the control of your favorite MPE-compatible device.

The third generation of Pigments adds a host of features including the brand new Harmonic Engine, an additive synthesis voice that contains up to 512 partials, sculpted downstream by a pair of formant filters, A and B, which the user can freely morph between for evolving spectral soundscapes. Other new additions include a third, utility audio engine that allows you to add a sub oscillator and pair of noise layers to enrich your sound, plus more flexible routing between the filters and FX sections. Other notable new features include a multi band compressor, a new pitch-shifting delay, as well as a stereo chorus, flanger, and lowpass filter all faithfully recreated from vintage analog instruments. Pigments 3 is a powerful plugin for every style of sound design which brings in-depth and comprehensive control to your entire workflow.
