4MS DLD Dual Looping Delay

4MS's Dual Looping Delay module was inspired by classic digital delays that were popular in the late '70s through the '80s. However, the goal of the DLD is not to serve as a mere emulation of PT2399 or Tape Delays. The module does not contain any pitch variation features and all time manipulation is cut against a precise digital clock that maintains the original signal's harmonic stability. The module's looping functionality brings something similar to the Lexicon PCM42 Delay unit to the Eurorack modular realm, meaning there is CV control over almost every parameter. 

The DLD's inherently digital character renders it ideal for processing and looping audio. As users send more and more audio to the module's buffer, the loops that have been present for the longest time will begin to fade away, creating a textured atmosphere of constant shifting and layering. Additionally, each channel can be programmed to a precise division of the master clock, meaning users can set each channel to a different division for ping pong style delay effects.

DLD Dual Looping Delay Features

• Two independent delay/loop channels, synchronized to a common time base
• Maximum 88 seconds per channel (almost 3 minutes total recording time)
• 48kHz/16-bit sampling rate, option available for 24-bit sampling
• Extremely quiet and low-noise design
• Normaled connections of input and output for flexible use in mono, stereo, or dual mode
• Tap tempo button and clock Ping input set the basis for one "beat"
• Delay/loop time set as a number of musical beats (or fractions of beats) using the Time knob, switch, and CV jack
• Sample-accurate clock output for perfect synchronization
• Loop clock outputs for each channel
• Time switches change range of Time knob from 1/8th notes up to 32 bars
• Digital feedback, up to 110%
• Delay Level control, independent of dry/wet signal mix
• Infinite Hold mode disables recording input and fixes regeneration at exactly 100%
• Reverse mode plays memory contents backwards
• With an infinite loop locked, knobs or CV can "window" around memory, by shifting the loop
