E 604 is a compact condenser microphone with a cardioid pick-up pattern from Sennheiser. Its extended frequency response was specifically optimized to work as a perfect solution for capturing sounds of acoustic percussion, although exceptional sonic results can also be achieved with brass and woodwind instruments. This is accomplished in part by the mic’s ability to handle extreme sound pressure levels beyond 160 dB without distorting a tiny bit, as well as the overall low sensitivity to impact and handling noise.
