The Plinky 12 Toadstep is a four track MIDI/CV sequencer and groovebox in the Plinky 12 series, delivering a touch-controlled, jammable instrument powered by the lush Plinky 12 synth engine. A collaboration between Plinky and Toadstool Tech, Toadstep is designed for immediacy, interaction, and unabashed fun, combining Plinky 12's powerful synthesis engine with Toadstool Tech's cunning knack for intuitive, jam-friendly interface design. Across each of the four tracks, you can use the Plinky 12 polyphonic synth engine multitimbrally, enabling full ensemble arrangements that come alive quickly under your fingertips. Two of these tracks can be used instead to control CV instruments using Toadstep's onboard CV and Gate connections, and any of them can be used to control external MIDI devices, making Toadstep a literal and figurative platform for performing dynamic arrangements in virtually any set-up.

Inspired by some of the most formidable sequencers from the Eurorack world, Toadstep offers 16-step patterns for each of its tracks that can be extended and made more complex through sophisticated step repeating and ratcheting. For each step, you can set probability, velocity, gate length, and plenty of other sources for random modulation, empowering evolving sequences that sound organic and lively. Each track can store up to eight patterns with full pattern chaining, making it easy to incorporate Toadstep into a live set. The Plinky 12 sound engine itself is a flexible, wavetable-based polyphonic synth, supporting diverse sound design options and convenient methods for saving and morphing between synth presets. Likewise, an onboard tape delay and shimmer reverb allows for adding captivating effects to your sounds, which can also be used to process signals from the external audio input. All this power is controlled through the sleek touch interface of Toadstep, featuring large fader controls that make it easy to make dynamic changes to multiple parameters in an instant.
