Steps is a burst generator and stepped voltage generator from After Later Audio, with outputs that can either be unpredictable or a repetitive series of gates and voltages. It features an internal clock but can also be clocked from an external source. A trigger input and button can be used to initialize the gate burst, and the gate output stays high as long as the burst is active and an end of burst trigger output goes high when the burst of pulses is complete. These two functions are useful in combining multiple Steps together or for synchronizing with other kinds of modules.

In addition to being a burst/trigger generator, Steps outputs stepped voltages. These can be randomly generated and looped for predictable randomness and features an attenuverter on the output. When in burst mode, the stepped output is only active while the burst is active, stopping when the burst of pulses ends.
