The hexagonal keys are LED-backlit, with configuration designed by Intuitive Instruments to make it easy to play scalar melodies and tonal harmonies, with thirds stacked from bottom to top and chromatic increments left to right. As of firmware V2.0, you can define up to eight different custom note layouts as well, letting you pave your own path towards expressive performance. Exquis' MPE capabilities allow you to add modulation and texture to the timbre of your sounds, ideal for giving your sounds the responsiveness and organic feel of playing an acoustic instrument. Load any of the available 350 scales onto Exquis to light up the corresponding keys to your chosen sale, and make improvisation fun and stress-free.

Each of the hexagonal keys and four encoders provide a premium feel and build quality for expressing even the most subtle of gestures—the keys are particularly durable, offering an excellent opportunity for percussive playing. In addition to a 3.5mm TRS MIDI I/O, Exquis is equipped with MOD, PITCH, and GATE CV outs for controlling a vast spectrum of hardware.
