Floatingpoint Instruments Multiclock

The Floatingpoint Instruments Multiclock is a multifarious sync solution and interface designed as a one-stop shop for the synchronization of compatible audio devices. The unit converts many kinds of clock signals into others, drives a Sync plugin via DAW, and perhaps best of all, it is capable of acting as a master clock source for hardware rigs, with no computer required!

The Multiclock consists of four independent channels, each with real-time shift and swing parameters. There’s also per-channel Hot-Plug and Play support for MIDI, modular clock, analog LFO, and DIN.

Additionally, any unused channel can be utilized as a MIDI controller. Timing information is sent to the unit from an audio track of the DAW, a process aided by an included plugin. Incoming audio signals are first converted into clock signals then routed to the Multiclock’s four outputs. But the fun doesn’t stop there. The Multiclock can be synchronized with an incoming MIDI clock, DIN Sync, or analog clock signals from a modular synthesizer system. An added USB connection means that users can send MIDI messages from a DAW while simultaneously synchronizing with an audio clock.

E-RM Multiclock Syncs DAWs with Midi, Din & Analog Clock Hardware
The E-RM Multiclock fits in with a variety of MIDI-based workflows with the end goal of keeping hardware and software devices completely in sync with one another. While capable of acting as a master clock source itself, perhaps the most notable feature is its ability to generate an ultra-stable MIDI clock for syncing hardware to a DAW. As well as MIDI the Multiclock can generate DIN Sync and analog clocks.

By using their Multiclock plugin, users can generate an encoded audio signal that handles MIDI sync between DAW and hardware. Just use a dedicated output from an audio interface plugged into the Multiclock's signal input, and the Multiclock hardware translates back into a super-stable MIDI clock, acting as the perfect bridge between the software and hardware realms, keeping DAW and MIDI hardware completely in sync.
