Freaq FM from Wirehead Instruments is a 2-operator, 2-voice 8-bit synth that brings you into an alternate chiptune dimension where 8-bit nostalgia collides with generative futurism. This multi-hyphinate desktop device allows each voice to be sculpted with control over waveforms, LFOs, and modulation envelopes. The sequencer is what really gives the Freaq FM its distinct edge—an evolving polymetric brain that invents riffs, drones, and arpeggios with the tweak of just two knobs. Each voice has its own track with individually addressable length, but they share a common note sequence.

Freaq FM rewards deep programming and impulsive exploration alike thanks to the per-step parameter locking and multiple generative algorithms, while sync I/O means you can drop this thing right into your DAW or Volca rig. Voices can be tuned to glisten or scream, twist into harmonic chaos or gently sway in familiar scales including major, minor, phrygian, pentatonic, octaves and fifths.
