Reamper Studio Preamp + Re-amp
Warm Audio Reamper
Warm Audio's Reamper is a standalone unit that gives you myriad options for recording and creatively layering effects with your instrument and recorded DAW tracks. A standard re-amp chain takes your guitar and splits it into two signals: one for recording direct and another for going into the amp. You then have the ability to blend the recorded audio from the mic'd amp and clean guitar for a more rich sound. Likewise, you can easily record a guitar performance directly, then play around to your heart's content by re-recording it through different amps to find the perfect tone. This is also helpful if you want to add the extra grit of an amp or hands-on flexibility of external pedals to any DAW track, opening up a world of creative possibilities. Where the Warm Audio Reamper differs is the amount of different I/O that allows for esoteric configurations including an Amp In that has a built-in power soak capable of handling amps up to 50 watts at 8 Ohms. This is achieved by taking the speaker output from your amp and plugging it directly into the Amp In, bypassing the cab entirely.
On the front of the device is the Instrument I/O with the input having a switch for JFET and Op-Amp depending on wanting more color or cleaner translation. The rear of the device gives you the balanced I/O with 1/4" and XLR jacks along with an Amp In. As mentioned, this Amp In is perfect for getting overdriven sounds without needing a cab. For even more control, you could record a clean instrument track, a direct recording of the amp, and—using the thru on the back—a recording of the signal through a cab. Indeed, the Warm Audio Reamper is a fantastic addition to any studio looking to integrate pedals and amps into recording sessions.
