The SD909, from Tiptop Audio, is a 1:1 clone of the classic snare drum from the TR909. A few extra things have been added, such as voltage control inputs, but other than that it sounds like it just came off the assembly line in the 80s.

The core of this electronic drum is a binary noise generator and two triangle oscillators modulated together. The triangle waves provide the punch, while the noise provides the upper spectrum. Now with the noise generator and oscillators voltage controllable, one can take the SD909 into territories unheard by the original TR909. For those wanting to keep the classic sound, the panel markings show the original settings for the TR909 snare.
