ECHOZ from Tiptop Audio is a multi-algorithm delay module, great for delays ranging from the standard to the esoteric. ECHOZ features three banks of eight presets, for a total of 24 delay types, organized into tape, digital, or pitch delays. Tape delays are digital emulations of early tape echo effects but are updated for modern modular synths. These include effects like mono tape delay, three-head switch echo, and warped ping-pong. Digital delays offer minimal distortion and use a single mono, dual, or multi-tap stereo algorithms. These range from formant delay, diffuse delay, and dual ratio tapped delay. Pitch delays include pitch shifting in addition to the delay lines. The pitch modulations range from musical values like thirds, fifths, and octave shifting to microshifts that impart a subtle detuning effect. Controls include mix, input level, filter, feedback, time, and fidelity. The time and fidelity share a single CV input and are related but different. Time sets the delay time for the effect, while fidelity controls for the clock speed. An analog VCO clocks the DSP chip whose frequency is determined by the fidelity control. Modulating the fidelity can offer subtle changes in pitch to a digital mess of noise. ECHOZ is a great companion to any setup and offers a wide range of effects.
