Eliminate the S without losing the rest with the DeEsser Mk2 from SPL, a revitalized version of SPL's uniquely musical DeEsser design. Just like the original, the DeEsser Mk2 uses automatic detection of sibilant frequencies, mixing in a phase-reversed copy of these frequencies to eliminate S-sounds without otherwise affecting the character of the voice. The result is exactly what you want from a DeEsser, allowing you to clean up vocal recordings with ease without causing further degradation of the recorded performance. In the DeEsser Mk2, you get two mono copies of this fantastic functionality.
Additional controls allow you even more flexibility in the studio. Switch on the Auto switch to enable Auto Dynamic functionality, which adjusts the threshold automatically as an input level fluctuates, perfect for live applications. Adjust the targeted frequencies of S-sound detection with the Female switch, which reacts more intensely to higher frequencies and adjusts the mid frequency position. Useful for tailoring a sound to a wide range of sources, these switches ensure you're able to work efficiently and effectively in any situation. Whether you're recording voiceover work or cleaning up vocal takes in a musical setting, the DeEsser Mk2 from SPL is a crucial component in any vocal recording chain.
