Montreal Assembly's Count to 5 is a modern classic that gives you three modes of loop manipulation, pitch-shifted delays, and experimental sampling, now available in a limited Perfect Circuit colorway. The first mode is a pitch shifting buffer that can elicit shimmering delay and reverb sounds, Rainbow Machine-style ascents and descents, or more conventional delay sounds. Using the Length and Feedback knobs allows you to adjust the audio buffer, while the DIR control adjusts the pitch and direction. Mode two is a four second looper that records into an audio buffer when the left footswitch is held, and will playback the entire buffer or just small slices. In this mode you can adjust the playback speed and direction, the size of the slices, and how random the start position of the slice playback is. This is great for making granular textures or having random melodies spontaneously appear and then fade away. Mode three is an eight second looper with three virtual playback heads that turns the three knobs into playback speed and direction controls for each audio buffer.

The Q switch is the same for all modes, and selects which type of quantization you'd like for the DIR 1 control. You can select none, chromatic, whole tone, diminished triad, augmented triad, and 5ths & 8va—with the same set of quanitization options available for all modes. The E switch selects what the expression pedal controls, adding a versatile range of live control options.
