The gain control on the PREQ4 provides up to 45dB of boost, with an additional 20dB available at the press of a button, and the 20dB input pad means that nearly any microphone can be coerced into a workable range. Air Band enhances top-end presence and clarity, offering up to 12dB of boost at the selectable frequency ranges of 2.5, 5, 10, 20, and 40 kHz. Of course, many of the standard mic pre features are present as well, such as 48V phantom power, phase reversal, and a 70 Hz high-pass filter to reduce low-end rumble.
