Larix Elektro TRIG Generator

TRIG Generator from Larix Elektro is an 8-step algorithmic trigger sequencer that provides a surprising amount of rhythmic variation from a streamlined set of controls. Trig Generator has three modes: Binary, Gray, and Euclidean. Euclidean mode uses a Euclidean distribution algorithm that evenly spaces notes within a bar. Euclidean rhythms are found in drum patterns around the world and in many Eurorack trigger sequencers. Binary mode creates trigger patterns based on binary representations of numbers from 1-255. Gray Code is a variation of binary counting and is sometimes used as a method of minimizing transmission error as only one digit changes at a time. NB sets the number of steps from 1-8, Shift offsets the starting position of the sequence, and Code controls a different parameter based on the current mode.

TRIG Generator has a pair of outputs which mirror each other, with each providing the inverse of the other. If Out is active then 1-Out is off, and vice versa. Using both outputs is a great way to create call-and-response rhythms. A unique feature of Trig Generator is the CV-in switch, which switches how the module reads both the onboard controls and external CV modulation. In Step mode, changes occur instantly, while in Seq mode the module waits until the current sequence of triggers resets back to the initial step. The Reset input acts in one of two ways depending on the Loop switch. With loop off, the module only outputs gates when it receives a gate at the Reset input, acting as a run/stop input. With Loop on, a gate at the reset input starts the gate pattern from the first step. TRIG Generator from Larix Elektro uses well-known algorithms to help create rhythms as straightforward or complex as you need.
