Tiny Amp Destroyer is a collaboration between King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard's Stu Mackenzie and JAM Pedals that perfectly recreates the sound of a small amplifier pushed beyond its limits. The pedal arose as an effort to capture the villainous combination of a cheap Cash Converters amp fed by a pair of JAM's Boomsters that defined the explosive tones on KGLW's recent albums. Two gain stages, G1 and G2, can be stacked or fired independently via dedicated footswitches. Each has its own gain knob: G2 covers subtler drive up to the edge of breakup, while G1 pushes into grittier distortion, and together they meld into total madness. A third footswitch lifts the treble ahead of the drive, keeping the sound focused even at the extremes—a design borrowed from JAM's Rooster.

TAD doesn't simulate an amplifier so much as collapse whatever you're playing through into something smaller and uglier—in the best way possible. Both drive stages are shaped by the shared Tone section, allowing you to boost and cut treble and bass response. To bring you closer to that tiny amp sound, TAD features a Notch control and the Magic toggle. The former gradually scoops the midrange, rendering the sound hollow and boxy by degrees. Magic adds to this, bringing in compression and instability, particularly when the drives are pushed.

KGLW's long-time collaborator Jason Galea ties everything together with strikingly psychedelic artwork that communicates the character of the pedal as much as the sound does.
