Hikari Instruments VCA Timbre
VCA Timbre from Hikari Instruments is a two-channel VCA and wavefolder great for livening up simple waveforms, stereo folding, and adding dynamic timbral shaping even when used as a normal VCA. Each of VCA Timbre's two channels features identical VCA and Timbre sections, with normalled connection between input A and B when the second input is left unpatched. With its flexible response control and rich wavefolder, this VCA is a fantastic addition to any rack as both a high quality utility and a unique signal processor.
Each VCA and wavefolder channel features dedicated inputs and outputs to enable flexibility in patching. On the VCA side, a manual slider and CV input for gain is provided. This shapes the level of the signal as it goes into the wavefolder, affecting timbre dynamically as your signal's amplitude changes. Smoothly dial in a response between linear and exponential modes with the small knobs above each channel, making it easy to hit the timbral movement you're after no matter your CV source. The Buchla style wavefolder in VCA Timbre is rich without becoming overbearingly aggressive, making it perfect for creating organic tones that become less harmonically rich as they fade in volume. Hikari Instruments offers a great stereo VCA with some serious saturating spice in VCA Timbre, sure to bring new tones and timbres to any system.
