GFI Solis Ventus

GFI's Solis Ventus is a dual DSP reverb and delay monster that takes everything you loved about their Specular Tempus and doubles it. Impregnated with two high performance 32-bit ARM processors and the ability to run two algorithms at once, you can create incredibly complicated sound worlds that run in series, parallel, or dual mono. The pedal is divided into two sections, one for each algorithm, making this a tweaker's delight. Quickly scroll through different algorithms and parameters simultaneously, switch between reverb and delay, even swap the algorithms. GFI has designed the perfect relationship: independent and distinct while becoming greater than the sum of its parts when brought together.

On top of world-class reverb and delays, you also get a 40s looper built into the device. Running in full stereo, the looper goes into instant overdub (classic DL4 behavior) and you get a number of looper effects, like reverse, double, and half speed. In addition, an Ascend Dub mode will playback and overdub the loop at 2x speed resulting in a constant increase in pitch.

Customization is paramount when integrating a pedal into your own workflow and with the Solis Ventus you get just that. An Aux jack lets you use an expression pedal or footswitch, a second Exp 2 jack will accept CV as well as an expression pedal, and 1/4" MIDI I/O lets you control the pedal via MIDI, function as a Thru or transmit a clock signal. You can also run the device in Stompbox—turn on and off individual DSPs—or Preset mode—flip between predefined pairings of algorithms.
