Sculpt new and exciting timbres with Cric from Future Sound Systems, an all-analog synthesizer with an open ended patchable pin matrix at its core—now in a gorgeous greyscale color variant. This matrix-style of patching gives you access to experimental routing possibilities and complex modulation for creating new and exciting timbres. Capable of crafting both familiar and completely unrecognizable sounds, Cric contains a diverse sound palette and feature set to comfortably sit at the center of any electronic music studio.

At the beating heart of Cric are its three versatile oscillators: Scissor, +DNA, and -DNA. These oscillators offer a spectrum of waveshapes, flexible FM capabilities, and extremely precise pitch control for producing everything from gentle, intimate sounding voices, to abrasive and complex noise, and everything in between. The pin matrix allows for a wide variety of different styles of patches; cross-modulate the oscillators for west coast-style synthesis, create heavy multi-layered bass lines, or design experimental CV signals to send throughout your external gear using the CV outputs. Shape these sounds with the flexible filter section, offering multiple filter modes, resonance and FM control, as well as folding and rectification for even deeper sound manipulation.

Cric offers a diverse variety of CV generators, including four discrete function generators, which provide snappy AD envelopes, or LFOs with variable response and output level, pulse output, and CV controllable decay and rate controls. These generators can be pushed into audio rates when cycled, allowing for extra oscillators to bring into your patches, or even additional sources for FM patching. The onboard noise source can also be normalled to a sample and hold circuit for random CV.

Easily integrate Cric into a larger synthesizer system with the flexible CV I/O section, offering four individual 3.5mm jacks for sending you CV or audio signals throughout the pin matrix for processing and manipulation. Process external audio via input 1, which features a microphone preamp and XLR connection for bring acoustic sound into your patches.
