Volcan from Eowave is a compact dual function generator and slew limiter in Eurorack format. Inheriting its general architecture from the legendary Serge DUSG, Volcan stays true to the essentials, delivering no major design breakthroughs and instead focusing on high-quality execution of this time-tested audio tool.
Each function generator is identical, with all the features you'd expect from such a famously flexible circuit. Rise and fall time are controlled via manual faders or CV inputs. The shape of these curves are variable from logarithmic to linear to exponential, controllable via the shape knobs. Trigger each channel with manual buttons or CV trigger inputs, or create cycling LFOs by engaging the loop switch. Triggers are sent out of each end-of-cycle output when the fall function completes, allowing for complex trigger sequences when automating rise and fall times, perfect for cross-patched chaotic control signals. The slew input allows you to use the rise and fall curves to smooth and shape external signals before passing through the function outputs.
