Squeezing the best of their Canyon delay pedal into a smaller package, the Electro-Harmonix Pico Canyon Echo is a crisp and clean digital delay with some tricks up its sleeve. With a maximum delay time of three seconds, you can dial in the length of delay with the Delay knob or make use of the Tap Tempo feature to lock into a drummer, metronome, or other rhythmic source. If doing the latter, you can set up a division of that tempo with the Tap Div button, scrolling between quarter note, dotted eighth, and eighth note subdvisions. Set the mix between dry and wet signals with the Blend control, and tune the character of the delay with the flexible Filter—offering both lowpass and highpass filtering. As a bonus, a new Micro Looping mode lets you fill the delay buffer with a phrase, then remove the delay input from the signal path to play on top of it while your loop continues to play or slowly decay away.
