EAR Modular Windstring

Windstring from Ear Modular is a filterbank machine based on the Serge EQ, piloted by a large central knob that selects the frequency band. Plug your audio into one of the two audio inputs and use the Wind knob to select a channel. This will open up one of the ten frequency channels using a method inspired by gentle swaying that a breeze can encourage—that is, not all at once, but more gently. You can patch directly into the channels as well, which removes the channel from the Wind sweep, giving you more control over the sound space. A Random and Reset button with corresponding CV input allows for instantaneous opening of random channels and closing of all channels. Included is a small, 2hp expander that gives you a Lock option, allowing you to lock each channel in open or closed states, allowing high, low, band pass, and band reject filter behavior. A Zone Select option lets you limit the Random selection options to either the top or bottom zones. Ear Modular's Windstring is a straightforward, easy to use filterbank that can breathe new life into your system.
