Doepfer’s A-144 Morphing Controller is a compact but useful module for modulating four parameters from a single CV signal. A linear increasing voltage input produces evenly-spaced cascaded voltage outputs, perfect for voltage-controlled crossfading between the four inputs of a quad VCA such as the Doepfer A-135. At audio rates, the A-144 is an effective waveshaper, and mixing and intermingling the A-144’s outputs with a mixer can produce satisfyingly complex waveforms.
