The dbx 510 Subharmonic Synthesizer is a 500-series module dedicated to generating thick low end via subharmonic synthesis. In lieu of simply using an EQ, it emphasizes low end audio by adding a second signal, residing an octave below the source audio input. The 510 features two-bands of subharmonic synthesis, 24Hz-36Hz and 36Hz-56Hz, which provides smooth control over the low frequency content. The Subharmonics control sets the amount of effect, and the LF Boost control fills out the gap between the synthesized sound and the source material. The 510 fits a huge number of applications from live sound to sound design, excelling at adding bottom end when you need it most.
