Damnation Audio's Bass Amp Grinder is a reinterpretation of the classic Rat distortion, but specifically voiced for the bass. Distort adjusts an op-amp circuit that has limited bandwidth to help give that classic sound. This all feeds a 2-pole low pass Filter, with eponymous knob, for dialing back the attack a little bit. A 2-position switch gives you modern and vintage frequency responses, respectively. Blend everything with ease using the Clean knob and the distortion circuit's Volume knob. The Bass Amp Grinder from Damnation Audio is a welcome low-end take on a classic circuit.
