London Fog Stereo Tape Delay Pedal
Coffee Shop Pedals London Fog
Coffee Shop Pedals' London Fog is a stereo tape delay pedal with four different tape styles, separate Time and Playback Speed controls, full MIDI control via TRS, and savable presets. The pedal contains its own internal memory, which can save the state of the pedal for a total of three individual presets—or up to twenty via MIDI—which can instantly recall every parameter on the pedal. This is a powerful tool in combination with London Fog's vast set of controls. The Program knob chooses between one of four tapes modes—New, Old, Vintage, and Dual—each of which contains its own behavior and sonic character.
The Repeats knob defines the feedback of the delay, i.e. how many repeats the pedal will produce. This is particularly important on a tape delay, as the more repeats there are, the more the sound of those repeats will degrade over time. A less obvious feature of London Fog is its ability to retain the trails of its delays, meaning as you switch programs or presets, the delays continue to play, and then fade. This gives you seamless transitions from one preset to another, but if undesirable, this feature can be switched off in the settings.
The London Fog provides both Time and Playback speed controls, allowing you to not only define how the delays are spaced apart from each other, but how long the space between the dry and wet signal are. Holding down the Tap switch allows you to engage the Bend function, a momentary modulation of the Playback Speed, the amount of movement and speed of which can be user-defined. This gives you access to on-the-fly pitch and delay speed for added impact. The Playback Direction switch controls whether the delay is playing back forward, or reverse, or even a combination of the two with the middle setting. This, in combination with the presets feature allows you to momentarily switch between forward and reversed delays without taking your hands off your instrument. A great addition to any effects rig, London Fog from Coffee Shop Pedals is a beautiful sounding tape delay pedal that combines the warm intimacy of classic tape with the versatility of modern features in one seamless experience.
