Delay1022 from CG Products is an analog BBD designed with Karplus-Strong synthesis, extensive modulation, and complex feedback in mind. Karplus-Strong synthesis is a technique used in physical modeling in order to synthesize the sound of a plucked string or percussive hit. By reducing the delay time, increasing the feedback, and sending the module a pulse or short burst of noise, you can create the sound of physical objects in your eurorack system. The heart of the module is based around a pair of Analog BBDs or Bucket Brigade Delays. You can use a single BBD for shorter delay times down to 1.3ms, or cascade one into the other for delay times up to 50ms. The large time knob controls the delay times and includes a pair of CV inputs, one with an attenuator and one unattenuated for 1V/oct sequencing. A Dry/Wet control blends from the input signal to the pure output signal from the delay line. The feedback circuitry includes both manual and voltage control over the feedback loop with the ability to invert the feedback loop for negative feedback. A direct delay output jack and secondary input allows you to shape the character of the feedback loop with other modules. Add filters, waveshapers, frequency/pitch shifters, or even other delay modules into the feedback loop to achieve your preferred feedback behavior. Analog BBDs tend to color the signal with a bit of noise, but the Hi-cut control adds a 12dB/oct lowpass filter to reign in the high frequency content. Additionally, a Low Cut switch reduces the lower frequency content of the delay line. The lowpass filter's frequency is affected by the 1V/Oct input, adding additional sculpting of your delay line.
