The B1D from Burl Audio is a high definition microphone preamp and DI for 500 series chassis. Unlike its companion the B1, the B1D is equipped with an all-iron BX4 output transformer, giving it an edgier, more chaotic sound. The module is constructed with a direct-coupled, capacitor-free circuit path, providing a high quality warmth to your signals while maintaining its original clarity. This in combination with Burl's proprietary BX3 input and BX2 nickel output transformer produce amazing punch on drums, beautiful tonality on guitars, and warmth with presence on vocals. All together the B1D can add up to 70 dB of additional gain using the stepped potentiometer, along with the discrete level control for dialing in the perfect gain staging. Use the transformer-coupled impedance switch to support ribbon mics and other low impedance sources. The -30 dB pad and polarity reversal switches allow you the B1D to adapt to any recording scenario you may find yourself in. Easily connect your instruments using the front panel 1/4" DI input, perfect bringing more color to your guitars and synths.
