Just like the lovely pedal that inspired it, Behringer's Ring Stinger is a great way to explore wild resonant tones on the edge of synth sounds, using classic analog synth techniques to inject inharmonic pitch shifting to any input signal. Onboard is a multi-waveform oscillator which acts as the carrier for ring modulation, while your input signal acts as the modulator, multiplying the frequencies together to generate sum and difference tones above and below the input frequency. If that sounds too heady for rock n' roll, don't worry—you won't need a pure maths PhD to get great sounds with Ring Stinger. Just flip some switches, turn some knobs, and get lost in an endless world of unique tones so-called "normal" pedals can't muster.

For comprehensive control of the ring mod effect, the Ring Stinger gives you both adjustable frequency control and a blend control for mixing in some of your dry signal. On the left side of the pedal, a low frequency oscillator is onboard which can be set to modulate either the VCO frequency or the oscillator's pulse-width, creating evolving tones that add movement to the effect. Also onboard is a dedicated drive which trends towards fuzzy territory, allowing you even more harmonic enhancement to your far-out tone shaping. Likewise, a filter tone control is provided to shape the modulated signal's spectral content. Separate footswitches allow for controlling the bypass of the pedal independently from the LFO and ring modulation effects, while inputs for controlling the LFO depth and VCO frequency give you the option to integrate expression pedals or even modular synth signals with the effect. The VCO features its own output, as well as a carrier input you can use to replace the internal oscillator with an external signal.
