The Behringer MS-1-RD is a bright red analog monosynth inspired directly by a synth that grew to define the various sounds of the 1980s. Using the same classic VCO and filter designs as the original, the MS-1 is capable of all the sounds of its predecessor—but with expanded connectivity and modulation options that bring it firmly into the 21st century.

All the classic charm of its source of inspiration is maintained: the classic sequencer remains, complete with 64-slot storage, and the unit even includes a guitar strap and modulation grip for keytar-style performance. A built-in arpeggiator provides extended melodic control, and the filter now includes the option of 6 modulation sources for timbres as of yet unheard from this classic monosynth architecture.

A host of MIDI and CV/Gate I/O options make it easier than ever to interface with DAWs, modular gear, and more. Bring the sound of the 1980s home, and put it right next to whatever other gear you might use—the monosynth is back, and here to stay.
