Behringer Halos

Halos is a full-sized recreation of the beloved Rings module, bringing a variety of physical modeling resonator techniques to your Eurorack system. Like the original Mutable Instruments module, Halos operates in one of three modes: modal resonator, sympathetic strings, and non-linear strings. "Polyphony" settings determine the maximum number of pitches that may be heard at once—either 1, 2, or 4 voices—at the trade-off of reduced high-end bandwidth.

Depending on the module is patched, the Halo's resonator can be excited with any external sound source or an internal impulse generator. At minimum, if you simply patch in a control signal to the 1V/Oct input, Halos will ping the resonator upon detecting a change in pitch. Triggers may also be patched to the Strum input, while the In jack is for substituting the internal exciter with any sound you'd like.

Halos allows you to shape its physical modeling sounds with a curated selection of smartly-tuned parameters. Damping and Brightness affect the sustain and high-frequency content of the resonators, while Structure gives you the ability to morph between models, tunings, and timbres that simply would not be possible with real instruments. Position moves a virtual pickup within the model, offering slight changes in tone thanks to the power of comb filters.
