If you're running external instruments or sounds into your modular rig, you'll want them to be as clear as possible before processing and mangling occurs, and that's what the ADDAC711 Balanced Inputs module provides. It features industry standard Neutrik combination XLR-1/4" inputs, passing through a unity gain transformer stage with electrical isolation between input and output—eliminating noise and sparing you from the headaches of impedance mismatches and other issues. There's also a gain control for getting your levels set just right, with clipping indicator LEDs to let you know when you're running things a little too hot. If ground loops occur, engage one of the ground lift or float modes to isolate ground between input and output stages.
