ADDAC System ADDAC702
The ADDAC702 Dual VC Filter is a two-channel filter module inspired by the original Korg MS-20 but with an ADDAC twist perfect for filtering and adding distortion to a patch. It features two independent filters, one highpass, one lowpass. Both have cutoff and resonance controls with CV inputs and attenuators. A truly unique feature is the addition of CV slewing, which approximates the behavior of a vactrol to add slew to incoming CV. This can be turned on or off with a switch and the slew time can be adjusted using a trimmer. The filters both have selectable resonance clipping paths: off, diode, and LED-based clipping for adding crunch to the incoming signal. The resonance goes into self-oscillation even at low settings and can be altered by the clipping settings. There is also a distortion/fuzz circuit in each of the filters for additional fuzz and grit.
The filters can be seperate or coupled and linked together in parallel or in series. A mix control fades between the highpass and lowpass outputs and features a CV input with controls to invert the signal to allow for modulation of the mix in either direction. Each of the outputs has a phase switch to allow for additive or subtractive mixing. The NP|BP and BP|NP outputs allows the filter to output notch and bandpass effects based on the cutoff frequencies of the two filters. While this filter is inspired by the MS-20’s filter, it’s a wholly new beast.
