WMD Modbox MKII

ModBox MKII from WMD is the second coming of the original ModBox, bringing powerfully multifunctional modulation sources to Eurorack systems. Built around a dual-LFO with a ton of additional processors sure to find a use in every patch, ModBox MKII is a great choice for any system that needs a versatile playground of modulation sources to help patches feel alive and unique.

The first LFO is a three-phase oscillator that generates a trio of related but unique waveforms, with phase, modulation, and frequency-spread modes. Phase offset mode allows the Spread control to offset the phase of outputs 2 and 3 in opposite directions from the position of output 1. Phase modulation mode allows each output to phase modulate the next, with the Spread control affecting the depth of this modulation. Finally, frequency spread mode adjusts outputs 2 and 3 in the frequency domain, with Spread controlling the depth of these opposing offsets. In addition to these spread functions, you can also control the base frequency and waveshape of the LFO, directly dial-in their output level, and even adjust the base frequency ratios for outputs 2 and 3 irrespective of which spread mode you choose.

On the right side of the module is where you'll find the Skew LFO, which is a waveshaping LFO that can be synchronized with a clock signal. Control frequency with the Freq control, and morph the waveshape with Slope. Phase and Shape (exponential or linear) can also be controlled using shift functions, and the Skew LFO can also be used at audio rate with 1V/Oct tracking. Never without another trick up its sleeve, ModBox MKII also contains a powerful digital sample and hold, which can be set to sample & hold, track & hold, and even a Turing-Machine inspired loopable random sequencing mode.

Normalled into this S&H circuit are an analog noise source with dedicated output jack, as well as the clock generated by the Skew LFO, creating modulation sources that move together and minimizing the need for additional modules to get things going. Through it all, Clock and Reset inputs allow ModBox MKII to move in time with your patch, creating musical movements that add unique flair to different parameters while staying cohesive. Whether you're looking for a does-it-all modulation source for a small system or just want a unique source of modulation to shake your patches out of the typical wiggles, ModBox MKII from WMD is an exceptional addition to any system.
