The HV1 Hybrid Oscillator from Weston Precision Audio blends the best of both analog and digital sound generation to deliver a vastly versatile sound source for any Eurorack system. An incredibly stable analog triangle core VCO with exceptional tracking range lies at the heart of HV1, which is then sent through a digital phase shifter, producing both a phase-shifted triangle wave and a morphed wavetable waveform. The wavetable source uses the phase shift information to read user wavetables, including both WaveEdit and Serum files, enabling an incredibly expansive range of tones to explore. Using additional analog circuitry, the core triangle oscillator is also reshaped to produce sine, sawtooth, and pulse outputs, and also features a selectable low-frequency range for modulation duties.

This cornucopia of simple and complex waves all sound richly detailed thanks to the high resolution digital audio outputs, giving both the digital and analog waves equal weight and depth. All waves can be modulated with both linear through-zero and exponential FM, and the digital outputs at the right side can be further mangled via wide-range phase modulation. Naturally, the wavetable output also features a morph control and CV input with attenuator, making the most of this highly configurable sound source. Using the simple menu system and onboard display screen, you can assign CV control over wavefolding or bitcrush effects for the Auxiliary CV input, use the built-in tuning function, and apply the detuning ability to use HV1 as two separate, parallel oscillators.
