Delivering a special variety of dynamics control, the Walrus Audio Mira is an optical compressor pedal containing studio-grade controls and sound. Optical compressors offer a distinct feel that's different from other flavors of compression, and Walrus Audio took plenty of step to ensure the Mira is at the pinnacle of what dynamics pedals can be. Internally operating at +/-15V like a majority of professional audio equipment, Mira provides standard Threshold, Ratio, and Make-Up Gain controls, but also provides Attack and Release controls for sculpting the compression response to your playing. Furthermore, parallel compression tones are achieved with the Blend control, while the total output level may be set with, well, the Level control! As a bonus, you can find a fixed highpass filter at 120Hz on the side of the pedal—helpful for taming low-end frequencies and their effect on the compression circuit.
