LOG from Verso Instruments is a bold reimagining of the instrument that turned guitars electric—the lap steel. Rather than simply carrying the tradition of a particular style or lineage to the modern age, LOG's design invites play and experimentation through a movable magnetic pickup system. Place the pickups anywhere along the body, and the instrument opens up an unusually wide tonal palette.

LOG can be switched between mono and stereo modes, the latter letting you process each pickup individually for more complex and layered textures. A three-way switch selects either pickup on its own or both together. The instrument also rewards extended techniques—dividing the strings by using the tonebar as a middle bridge, for instance, which with a pickup on either side turns LOG into something of a two-sided harp. You can also sweep a pickup along the body while a note rings out, producing a soft, bow-like swell.

Made to be portable and robust, LOG has a steel top powder coated in 'Pop Lilac', sitting on a stainless steel back in raw industrial finish. The headstock is high-density beech plywood, carrying six nickel-plated GEWA harp tuners.
