UDO Super 6 ST49
The Super 6 Polyphonic Hybrid Keyboard Synthesizer from UDO is now more Super than ever, featuring the richly expressive feel of polyphonic aftertouch thanks to the upgraded ST49 semi-weighted keybed. On the Super 6 ST49, the same inspiring instrument is at your fingertips to command with utmost precision and creative control, extending its formidably flexible hybrid synthesis engine with deep playability and nuanced expression. With polyphonic aftertouch, each note can be played with varying pressure to invite richly detailed gestures in every performance, letting you emphasize notes in a chord or create unique modulations as you play. Additionally, the semi-weighted Fatar keybed provides a more responsive feel as you play, giving you the perfect balance of snappy action and robust control.
Under the hood, the Super 6 ST49 delivers an immensely powerful twelve-voice hybrid architecture which uses digital oscillators with a vast timbral range, then warms and sculpts tones with the all analog VCA and filter sections. Taking inspiration from classic Roland designs, the panel offers knob-per-function control of its uniquely clean and flexible sound engine, complete with 192kHz, 24-bit implementations of Roland-style chorus and delay effects. The two FPGA-based digital wavetable oscillators provide comprehensive access to both classic and cutting edge sounds, with a stereo super-saw engine for DDS1 and more traditional analog waveshapes on DDS2. Considering the ability to upload user wavetables and the lush filters downstream in the signal path, the Super 6 transcends sonic boundaries to deliver everything from soft analog keys to otherworldly textural pads and sound effects.
Two envelopes, one a loopable and invertible HADSR and the second a classic ADSR design, offer snappy responses perfect for plucky sounds, while their flexible implementation as modulation sources offer numerous sound design possibilities. The onboard LFO section is similarly expansive, with flexible assignment via the highly capable modulation matrix. While the expressive polyphonic aftertouch keybed makes real-time performance more expressive than ever, the multimode arpeggiator and sequencer offer even more ways to spin up lush patterns and spiraling musical figures. UDO's Super 6 has already proven itself as one of the greatest designs in contemporary polyphonic synthesizers, and with the ST49 keybed in tow, offers a fantastically capable instrument sure to inspire musicians well into the future.
