TK Audio SP502
Mashing together sounds of old and new, TK Audio's SP502 is a Class-A microphone preamp for 500 Series racks offering both an ultra-clean front-end and characterful output circuitry. With no transformer at the input, your signals are kept pristine as up to 70dB of gain is applied to them. If you'd like to keep things pure on the output, go ahead—but a Carnhill transformer-based output stage may be optionally engaged for a touch of vintage harmonic interest. There's also a separate saturation stage for even more color—and don't worry if you're an instrumentalist, because you're able to route your guitar or bass from the DI port through the saturation stage for console-like color. Tidy up your low-end frequencies with the onboard highpass filter—sweeapable from 30 to 400 Hz. Whether you're just starting out in the world of 500 series or you're looking for another preamp for your collection, the TK Audio SP502 is a stellar choice for any studio.
