ECHOZ from Tiptop Audio is a multi-algorithm delay module, perfect for delays ranging from digital clean digital delays to wild pitch shifting. ECHOZ features 24 delay types, organized into three banks of eight presets. Delays are organized into tape, digital, or pitch delays. Tape delays are reinterpretations of early tape echo effects, but includes effects like ping-pong, chorus, and LFO modulated wobbly tape echos. Digital delays model the clean digital delays with minimal distortion. These range from short BBDs to formant delays. Pitch delays involve one or two pitch shifts in addition to the delay lines. Pitch modulation ranges from microshifts that offer subtle detuning to musical values like thirds, fifths, and octave shifting. Delays can be mono or stereo, with one input and two outputs. Controls include input level, mix, time, filter, feedback, and fidelity. The time and fidelity are related, but different. Time is the delay time for the effect, while fidelity is the control for the clock speed. The DSP chip is clocked by an analog VCO whose frequency can be controlled by the fidelity control and CV input. Fidelity can be modulated up to audio rate for some truly spectacular results. ECHOZ is fun and versatile and suited for a wide range of applications.
