Teia Synthesizers OpticTone MKII
The OpticTone mkII from Teia Synthesizers adds new features and multiple refinements to their powerful multimode vactrol VCF and VCA module. Create plucks and thwaps with improved response and quality by sending a trigger into the Ping input, or simply sweep through the OpticTone mkII's warm and resonant filter modes to shape incoming timbres with 12dB low pass, 6dB band pass, and 12dB high pass filters. New to the OpticTone mkII is a routing switch which allows you to run the VCF and VCA in either parallel or series for additional sound design options. This mkII version also includes a filter range switch with low, medium, and high settings, to set the filter response to your taste and easily dial in the perfect frequency for your plucks.
Returning to the OpticTone is its wide ranging drive control, capable of subtle harmonic enhancement, significant saturation, and everything in between. The resonance control also features a separate feedback path, introducing additional compensation or wild sputtering squeals at high settings. Invert the filter frequency response for unique VCA/VCF combinations, and balance the two signal paths with a dedicated crossfade control. For performative finger-activated filtering, the Freq/Amp control may also be affected by touching the three lines directly below the central knob. Perfect for patching up analog drums that range from sweet to shredded, and wonderful as a dedicated filter in a subtractive synth voice, the OpticTone mkII from Teia Synthesizers is a flexible module with tons of character that will be welcome in almost any system.
