Tones in ThunDrum start with a main tone VCO, which features linear control response. This oscillator is modulated by another sine wave, which is attenuated by a VCA and controlled in modulation depth by the onboard zero-crossing envelope.

The onboard envelope only triggers on zero crossings of your waveform, ensuring no clicks and pops pass through with quick envelopes. When you trigger a note, the sound will grow less complex as the volume fades, producing highly organic and lifelike percussion. Additionally, you can modulate the frequency of the tone oscillator with external CV or the onboard envelope for classic pitch envelope toms and basses. Adjust brightness with the waveshaping control, adding even more variety to your drum timbre.
