Synthetic Sound Labs Segwencer 2.0
The Segwencer 2.0 from Synthetic Sound Labs takes inspiration from pipe organ crescendo pedals to provide a sequential switch that can smoothly morph, mix, and alternate between four input signals. Somewhere between a sequential switch and scannable mixer, the Seguencer provides many opportunities for creative patching, enabling radical sound transformations from a single knob turn or CV input.
In the center of the panel, four VCA inputs and outputs are provided with helpful LEDs to indicate active channels. Above these are controls for depth, which scans through the inputs sequentially, and width, which adjusts the smoothing between channel changes. Depth can be CV controlled, and a separate mixed output is also available which mixes all four channels to a single signal. Finally, a switch selects between peaks and slope mode, which sets the depth control to either shift between channels one by one, or add channels together as the depth setting increases.
Practical applications for the Segwencer are varied, providing many ways to creatively patch musical gestures with its simple interface. Smoothly blend between increasingly bright waveforms, sequentially mix in or subtract effect sends, or use CV signals to blend between modulation and gate sources.
