Sonicsmith E1 Duo Pack
The E1 Duo Pack from Sonicsmith packs in a pair of their ConVertor E1 and MIDVertor E1 modules, bringing a full ecosystem of audio-derived pitch tracking to any Eurorack system. Through its studio-grade preamp, ConVertor E1 analyzes incoming audio to generate pitch, envelope follower, and gate data from any source. These parameters are all broken out through dedicated patch points, but the module also contains a built-oscillator that can respond to this data, or function on its own as an independent oscillator. There's also a built-in pitch quantizer, and compressors for both the audio and control rate signals.
ConVertor E1 alone is an incredible tool, but the power is greatly expanded upon when connected to the MIDVertor E1. By streaming over the pitch, ENV, and gate data, the MIDVertor translates this information into MIDI messages, allowing one to connect up any electronic instrument and control it with voice, guitar, and more. Up to six ConVertor E1 modules can be connected at once, allowing for compelling polyphonic setups. There's also the capability to apply arpeggiations and transpositions to the pitch data, further expanding the potential for this powerhouse combo.
