Rupert Neve Designs Portico 5043-H
The Rupert Neve Designs Portico 5043 Compressor/Limiter pairs perfectly with the 5012 microphone preamplifier or the 5033 EQ. The module was designed with both tracking and mixing duties in mind and features two channels of compression/limiting that can be linked in sequence for dual slope compression/limiting, or used independently. When used in the latter configuration, a front panel push-button links the module’s DC control circuits, holding the levels of each input in equal amounts.Â
The 5043 also features both feed-forward and feed-back compression modes, accessible at the push of a button. Feed-forward compression takes control voltage from the input, before the VCA, resulting in an immediate response. On the other hand, feed-back compression is achieved by taking control voltage from the output, or a signal that has already been processed by the VCA. Each mode has a distinctly different quality, allowing for nearly endless varieties of expansion and customization suitable to a wide range of applications.Â
This is the HORIZONTAL version of the Portico 5043.Â
