Despite its official designation as a Sync box, the Roland SBX-1 provides a wealth of additional options that elevate it to an entirely different category. Part of its charm lies in its ability to convert incoming performance data into CV and Gate signals for use with compatible modular synthesizers. From there, users can output three separate channels of LFOs and/or Triggers, each with different settings, to their modular gear.
The SBX-1 is also a great master clock source, capable of keeping modular gear and other external devices in sync. The unit features an internal master clock that users can slave to MIDI, DIN, SYNC, or USB/MIDI.
