Larking from Recovery Effects and Devices is a compact, four-voice desktop synthesizer designed to create lush harmonic textures and pleasant ambient drones through hands-on interaction. In its compact, pedal-style enclosure, Larking is perfect as a centerpiece for pedal-based ambient rigs, or any compact set-up, providing rich timbres and harmonic control in a simple and intuitive interface. Each voice is quantized in semi-tones, with selectable keys and eight melodic modes, ensuring a simple path toward a vast harmonic landscape. Along with the four buttons for playing each voice, you can also trigger the voices via Gate inputs using an external CV synthesizer, sequencer, or controller, as well as via MIDI. Each voice features its own pitch control, which sweeps through semi-tones of your selected key and mode to inspire intuitive harmonic motion beyond a traditional keyboard interface.

In addition to playing harmonically and melodically, Larking's internal sound engine features a central morphing control in the Shape parameter, allowing you to shift its timbre from clean sine waves to analog-inspired saturation that adds harmonic complexity. Rich bass and soaring highs are all possible in Larking, providing a wonderful harmonic foundation for any ambient rig. Also onboard is control for Attack and Decay time to adjust each note's amplitude envelope shape, as well as a global LFO that modulates each voice with both Speed and Amount controls. Add the final touch of ambience with the integrated reverb, and you're off to the races with powerful and profound harmonic drones. Somewhere between traditional synthesizer and an experimental drone platform, Larking from Recovery is a wonderful way to bring hands-on harmonies to any set-up.
