The Video Slooper from Razmasynth is a straightforward video player, looper, and sample maker in a compact 6hp package. Eschewing a graphical interface in favor of tactile buttons, the Video Slooper excels at giving you results quickly and simply. It has a fast load time and allows for hot swapping of USB sticks, meaning you can just plug in and plug out the drives without worrying about losing any data. Bring a grip of sticks to a gig and have your entire collection of tasty VHS rips at your disposal.

While playing the video you're able to resample the video in real time: hit the Sample button when you want to start, hit it again when you want it to end and it will loop indefinitely. Best of all, when you make one of these loops it gets stored as its own video in the S(ample)-Bank, letting you return to it later for another gig or further processing. Precompose a bunch of loops in your studio and have access to them whenever or do live call backs during a performance to create cohesive live sets. A Trigger Input is available via a tactile button or CV and allows for quick looping of the video without saving, creating stuttering effects that can be tied to a modular system or done via flesh.

Not limited to standard playback, the Video Slooper offers 5 distinct play modes. Normal just plays each video clip in order, Random will go to a random video file in no order, 2x plays back the video twice, and Ping-Pong will play forward and then backward. The last video mode is the Trig Select which is slightly more complicated insofar as you have to send a number of pulses to the Trig In and it will select the appropriate video on the playlist. For example, 3 pluses selects video 3, 6 for video 6 and so on. Each selection pulse needs a few seconds pause in between and with some careful sequencing you can automatically select clips. Voltage doesn't matter for the Trig Select mode, so you can send audio pulses from your DAW to trigger as well.

While standalone media players are abundant, the ease of use with the Video Slooper from Razmasynth makes this an incredibly simple solution to playing video loops and loading in external video files.
